Virtual Attendance
At Digital Academy at CUSD attendance is measured in three ways:

-
Attendance to daily virtual homeroom
-
Logging in to the Learning Management System (Canvas) each day
-
Completing your coursework

Student attendance is closely monitored in the Digital Academy and follows the board approved attendance policy for Chester Upland School District.

Supporting Attendance at Home
Consistent attendance is one of the biggest keys to student success in online learning and parents play a huge role in making it happen. Here's how you can help:

Build a Routine
Set a consistent login time, create a distraction-free workspace, and keep a visible daily schedule.

Stay in Touch
Reach out to teachers early if attendance becomes difficult, and respond promptly to school outreach.

Look Beyond the Login
Ask what your student learned each day and check that work is actually being completed, attendance is about engagement, not just being logged in.

Solve Problems Early
Report tech issues right away and talk openly about any stress or burnout affecting motivation.

Celebrate Progress
Recognize consistency and effort, not just grades, small wins add up.

Together, we can help your student stay connected, supported, and on track!
